It\u2019s the perfect time to stand together with the planet for the improvement of our future and our children\u2019s future. With <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.earthday.org\/earth-day-tips\/\">Earth Day<\/a> quickly approaching on <\/span>April 22nd,<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0we welcome Greenheart staff member, <a href=\"https:\/\/greenheart.org\/team\/#\/modal\/carly-visk\/international\/\">Carly Visk<\/a> to offer some personal insight and inspiration for Earth as a Living Being. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>\u201cWhat will it take to create a world in which the next seven generations can, at the very least, survive, and ideally, thrive?,\u201d says Carly. <\/b>\u201c<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If we are honest with ourselves, we know it\u2019s going to take a lot more than the small changes that are currently taking place. It\u2019s going to take a deep shift in the worldview of humanity. We can\u2019t just keep masking the symptoms, we need to address the root of this disease.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>A Living Concern <\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cCurrently, the dominant mainstream worldview is human-centric,\u201d says Carly. \u201cMost people think of the world as non-living property that we can own and that exists to offer its resources to support our agendas. His recent article entitled<\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/charleseisenstein.org\/essays\/initiation-into-a-living-planet\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Initiation into a Living Planet<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> goes deep into the exploration of this topic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIf we consider that humans were born from the Earth, that we evolved out of the oceans, we intuitively know that the same life force within us is also present in the water, in the forests, in the soil, and in all of nature,\u201d says Carly. \u201cWe realize that we ARE nature, and that by destroying the environment, we are killing ourselves. Here are some suggestions to get you started: <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Personal Action:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Spend some time communing with nature:\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Stand barefoot on the ground and feel the Earth; sit next to a lake and simply listen; ask how you can be of service; ask why you are here; offer gratitude by placing a pinch of tobacco on the ground or by making a nature mandala; feel and express your love. Or if you\u2019d like more of a guided nature experience, go to one of these<\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.chicagoenvironment.org\/events\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">many nature excursions and events<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> that are happening in the Chicagoland area!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Collective Action: <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Earth Day has so much to offer! Check out the list of events happening in your community or even make a personal pledge on <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.earthday.org\/take-action\/\">earthday.org<\/a> to commit yourself to an earth-friendly challenge.
